Inter-School Competition 2022

 Inter-School Competition 2022

Venue: Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya, Badarpur

The school observed the Samarth Bharat Parva on 29th Dec 2022 in a different way by organizing an inter-school group song, debate, and speech competitions. Schools from the Karimganj district and Cachar district have participated in the events. The events were very much musical with beautiful voices and symmetrical rhythmic support by the musical instruments. The speech and the debate were full of facts and presented beautifully. Our students also shared information from the dais about Gita and Samarth Bharat along with our teacher. The students of our Vidyalaya have also performed dance and song to celebrate and welcome all guest school students and their teachers.

Excursion Tour: Pobitora Wild Life Sanctuary

Excursion tour to Pobitora wild life Sanctuary and Guwahati for Class IX students.

Students visited

a) Shukreshwar temple, believed to be constructed in 1744 by Ahom king Pramatta Singha. It is located on Itakhuli hill. It has one of the largest Lingam of lord Shiva.

 

b) Kamakhya temple, located at Nilachal hills in Guwahati. It is one of the pithasthan of 51 pithas. This temple became identified by Mieccha dynasty and was followed by the Palas, the Koch, and the Ahoms. The main temple was built under the supervision of Chilarai.

c) Assam State Zoo cum botanical garden. It is the largest of its kind in the North East region. The zoo was established in the year 1957. This zoo has about 895 animals belonging to 113 different species around the world.

d) Basistha Temple: Lord Shiva is worshipped in this temple. The temple is located dates back to the Vedic age. According to the legend, this ashram was founded by the great saint Basistha. The temple was built by Ahom king Swargadeo Rajeswar Singha in Mid 18th century . Basistha river flows through the temple which is coming out from umterang of Ribhoi district of Meghalaya.

e) Regional science center, Guwahati: It is one of the units of the National council of science museums functioning under the Ministry of Culture, Govt. Of India.

f) Pobitora wildlife Sanctuary located in the Morigaon district of Assam. It was declared a wildlife Sanctuary in the year 1987 and covers 38.85 km square. It holds one of the largest Indian Rhinoceros (horn Rhino) populations in Assam. According to the data from 2018, there are now around 102 Rhinos. It is also home to over 375 species of birds and more than 2000 migratory birds and various reptiles. Other mammals are also found in this sanctuary.

g) Vivekananda Kendra Institute of Culture (VKIC) is a project of Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari and was established in the year 1933 in Guwahati. Its focus area is primarily on culture and spirituality as manifested in the region and how they r deeply intertwined with the ethos of the rest of the country.

h) Guwahati Planetarium is a center for astronomical education and research. Built in 1994, it is the only Planetarium in Assam and the North East region of India.

i) Shankardev Kalakshetra is a cultural institution named after the medieval poet-playwright and reformer Srimanta Sankardev. It was established on 9th November 1988. Has been conceived as a grand exposition of the life and culture of the people of Assam, of its diverse ethnic groups and subgroups. The society attempts to capture and convey the essence of Sri Sankardev, who preached the message of unity in diversity and the universal brotherhood of man.

The tour was for 4 days with full of knowledge gain and sharing.

Opening Ceremony: Annual Sports 2022-23

Chief guest respected Anjali Behan ji head in charge of Prajapita Brahma Kumari Iswario Vishwa Vidyalay, Badarpur Center, guest of honor of chief executive officer of BVCL, Badarpur Sri Mukesh Agarwal ji, other guests are Sri Mithun Suklayaboidya 5th no word commissioner of Badarpur Municipality, Sri Saiyad Habibur Rahamaan president of Bundasil Goan Panchayat, Sri Pijush Kanti Majumder, Sri Porimol Karmakar, Sri Arun Karmakar, and others. 

Children of our Vidyalaya took part in different activities like march past, Surya namaskar display, MPT display in "VKV" shape, human pyramid & yoga. The games started from this day for the pre-primary section. Along with our students, many parents and well-wishers were present.

National Mathematics Day 2022

India celebrates National Mathematics Day on December 22 every year. The day commemorates the birth anniversary of the great Indian mathematician Srinivasa Ramanujan. Mathematics day was celebrated in the school with various activities by the students of various classes. Class I and II students have participated in the mathematics race. Students of Class III, IV, and V prepared mathematics 3D models and different geometrical shapes. Students from Class VI, VII, and VIII practiced reasoning questions guided by the students of Class IX. Class X also participated to prepare a simple mathematical model. The first two periods were allotted for doing all the activities and to look after the smooth operation of all the activities teachers were assigned with their respective responsibilities.

SuKaPha (Ahom) Divas 2022

2nd December 2022

In honour of Chaolung Sukapha, the founder of the Ahom kingdom, which lasted for a period of nearly 600 years, the day is also known as Sukapha Divas.

According to Ahom tradition, Sukapha was a descendant of the god Khunlung, who had come down from the heavens and had ruled Mong-Ri-Mong-Ram. During the reign of Suhungmung, which saw the composition of the first Assamese chronicles and increased Hindu influence, he was declared the progenitor of the Indravamsa kshatriyas, a lineage created for the Ahoms by the Hindu Brahmins.

Lachit Divas: Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya Badarpur

The whole of Assam is busy these days celebrating the Lachit Divas and remembering his dedication towards his people and his love for his motherland. 24th Nov 2022 is the 400th birth anniversary of Assam’s war hero Lachit Borphukan. The legendary Ahom general who inflicted a crushing defeat on tyrannical Mughals in 1671 motivated us with his patriotism, who gave the first priority to the motherland over his family member. To remember this day students, showcase the Martial Art art moves in the assembly to show the real strength of body and mind. We all were enlightened by our Head, Prashanta Sir, who guide us and made us aware of many unknown facts to make us more proud to be a part of this region, where men prove their love for the country again and again in a different form.

Sadhna Divas: Man with Capital M

Ranade was born on 19 November 1914 in Timtala, Amravati district in the western Indian state of Maharashtra. The teachings of Swami Vivekananda deeply influenced Ranade. Eknathji Ranade was a man with a mission and to celebrate his birth anniversary we were enlightened by his life journey by Soma Bhatt. Didi in the morning assembly.

Every year Shadhna Divas is celebrated in all our Vidyalayas under VKSPV and all our students always find new ways to show tribute to Mananiya Eknath Ji. This year students from Class VI to IX presented skits in front of us from the life of Eknathji. All four groups tried their best to show us the best of Eknath Ji and the presentation was just beautiful and wonderful. All of us enjoyed the presentation by the students and in the future, we will be continuing with the skills to present more from the life of our past heroes.

Ganit Prajna Samvardhan 2022

Special Guest: Former Principal N C College and Nagar Sanchalak, Vivekananda Kendra Badarpur

The event GPS at the school level was started in the 6th period. The school has organized workshops for the whole day for classes VI, VII, and VIII. Different topics on mathematics were discussed by different teachers and by the ex-teacher Liama Sinha in the special classes allotted to them. The school topper in the GPP 2021 shared her experience for the three days GPS in NIT Silchar. Two students from Class IX were also engaged to take the mathematics class and interact with students. We are expecting in the upcoming days to have more rank holders.

Celebrated International Fossil Day 2022

On 22nd October 2022, the Department of Earth Science, Assam University, Silchar in collaboration with the Paleontological Society of India, celebrated International Fossil Day, 2022.

Dr. Sudhir Shukla (VP, Paleontological Society of India, Former GM (Geology), ONGCL) and Dr. Urbashi Sarkar (Assistant Professor, Department of Earth Science, Assam University, Silchar) gave a lecture on fossils, their occurrence, and their use in exploration and their impact in our society. They also encouraged students to consider the subject of Paleontology as a career option. And brought awareness about the subject to the young minds
Lastly, they also had a question-answer session with the students where students got an opportunity to interact and ask their doubts.

The Vidyalaya Observed the Gandhi Jayanti and Shastri Jayanti with a special performance by the teachers dedicated to the Devi Durga. Vidyalaya also organized the speech competition between various groups to improve the communication skills and debate competition to improve the knowledgge and confidence of the students. The observation ended with special wishes from Prishanta Sir, Vidyalaya Head, with everyone taking the pledge to improve all the drawbacks they have and will join the Vidyalaya after puja vacation with a positive attitude.

Sisters and Brothers of America: Universal Brotherhood Day 11 Sep, 2022

11 Sep, 2022 the famous Chicago speech, the day the world came to know about the hidden gem from India holds the enormous comprehension and understanding of spirituality. The day when a brave saint walked into an unknown region of negligence and uncertainty, to lighten the path and become a hero for everyone.

On the occasion of this precious day, the Vidyalaya organized a wall painting competition, thought telling competition, and thought explaining competition between the students. We all were amazed by the dedication of students to memorize those thoughts and thereafter present them excellently in front of all the crowds. We all in our hearts thanked and remembered the contribution of Swami Vivekananda.

We all observed the devotional beginning of the great day with melodious ASSAMESE song on the occasion of  Srimanta Sankardev Tithi. Srimanta Sankardev was a 15th–16th-century Assamese polymath; a saint-scholar, poet, playwright, dancer, actor, musician, artist social-religious reformer, and a figure of importance in the cultural and religious history of Assam, India. The significance of the day was shared by our physical education teacher in his beautiful voice by singing the greatness of Srimanta Sankardev. The program was conducted during assembly time.

On the eve of Janmashtami, VKV Badarpur celebrated the birth of lord Krishna with great enthusiasm. Students participated in devotional bhajan competition. Students came dressed up as राधे, श्रीकृष्ण, यशोदा , सुदामा and act like them to spread the sweetness mixed with happiness all around us. Parents of the primary section, teachers and all the students from Class I to X were present in the observation to feel the blissfulness.

75th year of independence is celebrated all over the country and our Vidyalaya students are not less enthusiastic to take part in it. For the last three days, all the students took their pictures of celebrating the "Har Ghar Tirangga" in their house with our national flag.
On 15th August 2022, on the school premises, we hoisted the national flag to celebrate the 76th Independence Day. There was a dance competition between the four houses to express their feeling and love towards our country.

Raksha Bandhan: Observances by The Students of VKV Badarpur

This year the Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya, Badarpur observed the Raksha Bandhan after two years of Covid restrictions. Students prepared the Rakhi in school and those Rakhis were tied up by the students the next day. Significances of the day were discussed during the assembly to make students realize the value of the small but precious thread. Both the pre-primary schools observed it, where KG-I and KG-II students can be seen enjoying their first Rakhi. The students also visited some nearby offices like Police Station, Power Grid, ITI, Fire Station & Circle Office for tying up Rakhi to the various members present during that period.

The day to talk about controlling our activities especially for using no plastics or using biodegradable products. The day to take a pledge to make our way of living positive to support the cleanliness of our surroundings. Just another opportunity for students to open up their imaginations and tried their best to draw it on a page.

Personality Development Camp 2022

PDC 30th May 2022 to 3rd June 2022

The nonresidential Personality Development Camp for the students of Class VI were completed successfully, organized by the Vidyalaya. Various activities and session were taken by the teachers which includes learning based on values. The students learnt many patriotic songs, leadership quality, moral based stories, communication skills in groups and much more. Such camps are organized in all the Vidyalaya under VKSPV, to make the students ready for the future with the character to lead a bright career with balanced life and cheerful mind.

ABL: PTM on 14th May 2022

 Many schools in the VKSPV setup following Activity Based Learning (ABL) to change the way children learn in the school. This is one of the successful project by VKSPV and gaining popularity year after another. As it is different from the traditional teaching system so our teacher take the initiative in the guidance of the school head to conduct a session for the parents to give them the demonstration of the ABL system. Parent took part actively in the meeting and also enjoyed the sessions.

Today the school has observed the Rabindra Jayanti by organizing a small program inside the school premises. Few of the students from the various class took part in the program held during the morning assembly. The school has observed the day during the assembly so that students can attend all the classes properly after the program. We were lucky to have Radha Didi, one of the most active life workers from Vivekananda Kendra, to bless our students on this auspicious day.

Students from classes VI, VII, and VIII are busy practicing mathematics for the upcoming GPP examination 2022. This the one of the biggest events organized by the Vivekananda Kendra Siksha Prasar Vibhag, Guwahati, Assam every year, where students from 21 Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya took part. The exam will be on 17th Feb 2022. Students through out the year in the guidance of the mathematics teacher prepare for this examination. All the students from our side.

73rd Republic Day Celebration: Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav

Wishing all our well wishers Happy Republic Day 2022. During the pandemic with recent SOP where only Class IX and X students are allowed to visit the school on Wednesday, this Republic Day Celebration witnessed only a few students from Class X along with few teachers. Students and parents of other classes watched the celebration online staying back at home. 

In our two other Pre-Primary sections too, our senior teachers celebrated the Republic Day with limited number of students.

Parakram Diwas: Recent Achievement

Recent achievement: VKV BADARPUR secured 2nd position in the Quiz Competition were held in Maharshi Shondipon Vidyapit, on 23rd January 2022. The total number of schools that participated were six and the maximum number of students who participated from each Vidyalaya were three. The topics of the quiz were, Swami Vivekananda, Indian Independence, Science & Technology & General Knowledge.

The day, 23 January is known as Netaji Jayanti or Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose Jayanti, officially known as Parakram Diwas or Parakram Divas.
